Understanding and Managing Diversity
In education the articles this week, I am learning that revolution has to do with age, gender, ethnicity, educational background, culture, geographic location, military experience, and religious belief. I found it actu bothy interesting that the article stated Diversity is not interchangeable with differences, but encompasses differences and similarities (Harvey & Allard, 2009, p. 11). This statement makes sense but this position meaning for diversity is not communicated the same way for everyone.
The virtually domineering communication geargond towards diversity within my geological formation is stated as: Diversity is who we are (CIGNA, 2011). We understand the sizeableness of inclusiveness and varied perspectives in meeting the needs of our diverse customers (CIGNA, 2011). Our diversity approach educates our employees about the important role diversity plays in creating a winning surround across the enterprise; an environment where all employees are encouraged to participate in initiatives that alleviate them create strong relationships, develop their skill sets and be officious within the company as well as the local anesthetic community (CIGNA, 2011).
On the companys career put theres a section that states Our Company is concentrate on employing diverse talents that bring innovative ideas, perceptive and views to the work. The organization supports workplace diversity and is able to capitalize and act to business opportunities more rapidly and creatively than their competitors. Another positive example of participating and promoting diversity within my organization is allowing all employees to submit bold ideas regarding the company improvements.
Some of the negative practices that could be improved within the company would be training.
