Through looking at Homers writing style, Troys location, and the characters and gods, it can be determined that the Trojan War, as described in the Iliad, is an exaggeration of less large events. He is known to romanticize, allegorize, and criticize in his works, the Iliad and Odyssey. Homer often romanticized the battles, heroes, and emotions he created and depicted.
