The American Revolution

When the American Revolution began it seemed like the colonist were going to throw a hard time winning independence. They were going up against the strongest military force at the time. The coastline and the river helped the colonist trap the red coats. The French adjoin them with fleets by blocking escape by sea, and the colonist blockade the route by land. The climate got harsh in winter. It got very cold and wet where the red coats where at. Food was hard to find, and most of the troops were sick. This made them surrender at the end.

The French provided supplies, weapons and ammunition, uniforms, and most importantly troops and the naval support to the Continental army. The French Navy transported reinforcement under the Marquis de Lafayette. They fought of a British flee, and protected Washington forces in Virginia. The French economic aid was very important in making sure the British surrender at Yorktown in 1781.
