Will Amazon Overtake Walmart as the Worlds Largest Retailer
Question: Which approach do you believe will be the most successful? Can Amazon really pull off same-day delivery across the nation? Will Amazon overtake Walmart as the world's largest retailer? Answer: Introduction Amazon is the largest online retail store in USA and across the world. Whereas, Wal-Mart is an American multinational undisputed Retail Corporation. Wal-Mart is the leading company by revenue across the world (Cohen, 2015). Many customers would like to choose Wal-Mart over Amazon as Wal-Mart products can also bought from its different retail shops. Which approach do you believe will be the most successful? To become more successful the Amazon.com should opens some retailer shops in different places of the United States. Rural areas are mainly faced problems as delivery of the products is delayed in those areas. Amazon.com should follow some approach like the maintenance of minimum delivery time to reach in both urban and rural areas. If they try to deliver the order in urban areas within 5-6 hours, they also have to try to send the order to rural areas within 1 to one and half day (Wolfe Pyrooz, 2014). This type of approach would help the company to reach a highest peak all over the United States. Can Amazon really pull off same-day delivery across the nation (not just select urban markets)? No, Amazon cannot pull off same-day delivery across the nation, especially in rural areas. It takes minimum two days to send the products in different rural areas. Not only in urban areas but also in some rural areas where transport is great problem, the company should provide transportation system for their employees for delivering the products with minimum times (Ellickson Grieco, 2013). However, the company started using drones to delivers products within same day delivery system. Although Amazon.com unable to implement it across the country. Will Amazon overtake Wal-Mart as the world's largest retailer (they still have a long way to go)? Andy Bond, CEO of ASDA stated that Wal-Mart will be the largest retail by 2020. There is a great controversy about Amazon.com and Wal-Mart between analysts and retail experts (Seetharaman et al. 2013). They possess mixed reviews about these two companies retail business. Amazon.com possesses a more impact focus on page loading because if a page loading becomes more time consuming then there was a 1% decrease in sales. It becomes very user friendly to consumers. It also makes the browsing or searching of a product faster. It also helps consumers by providing different customers reviews in the site. It can influence consumers to consume more than one product by giving their products an attractive looks. From 2007-2012, the sales of Amazon increases from $15 billion to $60 billion. Whereas, Walmart sales from 2.5 billion in 2005 to 4.5 billion in 2012 (Wolfe Pyrooz, 2014). This growth rate can easily help Amazon.com to take over Walmart in the United States. Conclusion So, finally it can be concluded from the above discussions that Amazon.com become more and more popular and successful in the United States if it would build some retailer shops and also make their services more fast in delivering products to rural areas. Thus, the consumers lived in rural areas will become friendly towards the Amazon.com products. References Cohen, J. (2015). Wal-Mart Wars: Moral Populism in the Twenty-First Century.
