The Aztecs were around for approximately 200 years. They were discovered in 1325 and conquered by Hernando Cortez in 1519. There are so many questions to be answered about who the Aztecs were and what impact they had on Mesoamerica today. The Aztecs were a group of Spaniards that were formerly nomadic. The geography of the Aztec empire was difficult because they did not have very much protection around them and they were eventually taken over because of this problem. They were also one of the last Mexico congenital American Civilizations. Around 1345, the Aztecs settled around Lake Tetzcoco. Tenochtitlan was the name of their settlement. Tenochtitlan is the revolve about of an empire stretching across Central America alone they were also surrounded by enemies. After they settled in their empire, their army grew and they started conquering people around them. To us now, Tenochtitlan is know to us as Mexico City.
