Throughout history, America has been lead by conglomerate leading each having unique characteristics. Each soulality touched various people among the different classes. Some leaders went down in history in a positive manner epoch others went into the history books leaving a legacy of disaster. Two unique presidents of the twentieth century included treasure Carter and Ronald Reagan. Each person was unique and appealed to the American people in different ways. In comparison, Mr. Carter did not appeal to the masses of people like Mr. Reagan managed to do. Personality, experience, beliefs, policies, and how they associate to others determined their popularity.
James Earl Carter grew up to become a little-known creator governor of Georgia. His peers considered him to be an outsider in the governmental arena. He expressed keen intelligence and dedication to duty. In comparison, Ronald Reagan grew up to become a well-known actor and a predominate of media, effective political speaker, governor of California, and proved to be a likeable and sensible leading man to average Americans. Their individualized differences and accomplishments in their adult lives seemed to shape their popularity with the American public. From these descriptions it can be seen that Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan were two different people with different ideas.




Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan had different political ideas. Jimmy Carter wanted to address the superannuated portions in the original Panama Canal Treaty and deputise the treaty to accommodate current issues. This new and improved treaty would slowly give possession of the canal from the United States to the Panamanians. His political opponents saw this as a give-away. Mr. Carter also appointed a young African American by the name of Andrew young person to serve as United States ambassador to the United Nations.
